Transcription

So you have some audio or video, but you want text. Whether it stops there or you want to take it a step further and have the script translated, we can help. Make an inquiry →

If all you need is a transcript of your audio or video in the original language, we will be happy to provide this service in either English or Japanese. Transcriptions are priced by audio or video minute. If you need a translation as well, click on the above tabs to learn about your options and decide which is best for you.

As the tab title suggests, this is a two-step process. First, we will transcribe your audio or video in the original language, and then we will translate that transcription. If you need a text in both languages, this option is your best choice. The transcription portion will be priced by audio or video minute. Since the translation is of a text, it will be priced as a normal translation would be – by source character or word.

Direct-to-target transcription combines the two steps of transcription and translation so that a translation is produced directly from the audio. The main advantage of direct-to-target transcription is that one less step means less time spent and thus a lower cost. If you do not need the source language text, then this is your best choice. Since there is no source text, it will be priced as a normal transcription would be – by audio or video minute.

Notes on Pricing

There are a number of factors that will affect the difficulty of a transcription, and thus the cost. These include the quality of the recording, type of content, number of speakers, speaker accents, background noise, and the time code and turnaround requirements. When making an inquiry about our transcription services, please keep these factors in mind and preferably make note of these details in your inquiry.
